rb5II's on sides???

I just got my system and i have encountered a small problem. the dimensions of my entertainment center are off by about a centimeter and believe it or not this is preventing me from installing my rb5's in an upright position. i think i can take the back off the entertainment center and put them in upright that way, but if I can't is there any problems w/ resting the speaker on its side. how bad would this affect imaging? which side would the horn go on? would this affect the warranty? any help would be great as I can't find anything on the website or in the info w/ the speakers. thanks!

The dispersion pattern on the horn in the RB-5II (and almost all current Klipsch speakers) is 90 degrees wide by 60 degrees high. When you place the speaker on its side, that pattern is 60 X 90 instead of 90 X 60. So, take out the screws that hold in the horn and rotate it 90 degrees and reinstall. Then you are in business.

gatorguy,

I'm not sure if you got your question answered or not about putting the RB5 on its side, but I just got a pair of these, and in looking at the horn flare, the spacing is different on the sides than on the top/bottom. Therefore, the rotation of the horn is going to be a little difficault than just removing the screws and repositioning the horn. By the way this is an awesome little speaker. I love my Klipsch! 9.gif
