Though it may be reccommended to have the center, and surrounds set to small, it is definitely not the rule. If it sounds better to you set to large, then by all means set it to large. Let your ears tell you what to set the size of the speakers at.

What is your primary application for these subs? Will it be used for movies or music listening primarily? Either way, I think that the SVS will definitely fill that size room, however you might consider the PC+ version as opposed to the PCI version. E-mail Tom or Ron at SVS and give them your room dimensions/layout and they will be happy to let you know which they would reccommend for you. They are very helpful. Keep on rockin!

This will probably surprise you, but Circuitcity.com has a really good selection too. A lot of the titles that they have sell for $13.99, and I think they are still offering free shipping too(but I havn't checked in the last few days)! Check it out, this is where i bought about 80% of my DVD Audio disks from.

I have the 20-39 PC+, and I absolutely love it. It blends very well with the RF-5's. Although there is very little music with information below 30Hz, alot of movies have bass below 20Hz, and that is where the SVS really shines. Not to say that the SVS isn't good for music, but for movies, it really is the best bang for your buck ! I have one port plug inserted, and the subsonic filter set to 16Hz, and there is still plenty of headroom left. I think that the volume is set at about 1/3, and my LFE level is -6. My room (15' x 13' x 9') is only a few feet bigger than yours, so I don't think that there will be any concern of the SVS not filling your room. Oh, by the way, do you come to Vegas very often? I live there, and would be glad to let you come by and listen to my setup. Just let me know(PM me or e-mail me).

I agree with the others, that another set of RF-3's would be excellent for surround, and as MarksDad stated: "A perfect timbre match to the other speakers". Although, I also think that the RB-5's would be a good match, you really aren't saving yourself any money or space by going with them. If you think about, by the time you buy stands for the RB-5's, they cost almost exactly the same if not more than the RF-3's, and the footprint is pretty close to the size of the RF-3's as well, so you might gain a matter of inches compared to the RB-5's. So really the best choice is another set of RF-3's. Whichever speaker you chose, I know it will work out.

Hi all, Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a B-stock SVS 25-31 PC+ available at the SVS website right now! It's $50 cheaper than a brand new 25-31 PC+. Don't be afraid of buying a b-stock sub from SVS...It is probably only slightly used, and has nothing wrong with it. Someone probably returned it because they wanted one of the other models. I know that when I got my 20-39 PC+ from the b-stock that there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. Anyway, just thought I would let you guys know.

Hmmmm, I'm confused... Are you trying to hook up a DVD player to your computer, or are you using the Promedia's with your home theater setup? Oh, by the way welcome to the forum . There is lots of good information to be had.

I'm just wondering if you have calibrated your subwoofer with the R.S. sound level meter yet? If you try to set the levels by ear, it won't work, you will have way too much sub output. Try calibrating the sub and mains first, and then post your results.

Oh, I forgot... The shorting out and crackling only happened at louder volumes, not soft volumes. Hope this helps.

Hello, I was the one who had the problem with the tinsel leads touching on the woofers, and causing the amp(receiver) to short out and crackle. Though it was not RB-5's, it was my RF-5's, but the same thing could happen with the RB-5's too. Have you done the speaker swap(left to right and vice versa) yet? What were the results? It would be interesting to see if your problem stayed with the speaker, or the right side of the amp. Let us know.

I got my RB5II's from accousticsoundesign.com. The price was right, the speakers were in great condition, and they are an authorized dealer. Can't beat it, in my opinion....

Although I can not speak about the SR-800, I did have the SR-700 for about 3 weeks before I returned it. Let me start by saying that I did not have my klipsch at the time that I was using this reciever. The speakers I had had a sensitivily of about 90db. I did have a problem with the amp shutting down. Once, I even had to unplug the unit, and let it cool down for 15 min, before it would turn back on. With regards to sound quality, I found the trebble very in your face, and the bass a little sloppy(lacking definition). These were the main reasons that I returned this product. I'm not sure what it would have sounded like with klipsch, but the shutdown problem made me very apprehensive of even trying it. I would try to stick with H/K, Denon, or Pioneer Elite if I were you. The Elites have some really nice features depending on your price range.

That system should be quite adequate for your sized room, however, based upon your statement of listening to more music than movies, I would reccommend some direct radiating surrounds. Nothing wrong with the RS-3's, but if music is your main focus, I believe some RB-3's or RB-5's might be in order. This will become especially important if you are going to be getting into DVD-Audio or SACD. Just my $.02. Whatever you get though, I'm sure you will be happy.

Enatman, While some of the prices you listed are okay for an authorized dealer, have you looked at some of the places online and the prices you can get there? I would get a different sub though(not that the RSW isn't good, but can't go as low for movies). Your original package: RF-3II $680 pair RS-3II $459 pair RC-3II $300 RSW-15 $1000 The same package from Accousticsounddesign.com: RF-3II $599 pair RS-3II $399 pair RC-3II $269 Plus SVS 20-39PC $825(from svsubwoofers.com) That would be a killer system , and for about $300 cheaper(before shipping). Worth looking into at least.

Yeah, the leveling post should do the trick! Hey, does anyone know if the RC-7 also has that leveling post? I'm not sure if it will be a problem or not with my tv, but sure would be nice to have.

Well, I would have to say that initially I was a little worried about buying a B-stock item from SVS. I thought to myself, even if there is a small cosmetic issue, when I watch DVD's the lights are off, so what do I have to lose. The next time I found a B-stock 20-39PC+, I jumped on it! When it finally arrived at my home, I opened it up, and thoroughly inspected it for any kind of defects. I looked and looked, and I could not find anything wrong with it, so then I got really happy . I must have gotten a slightly used one that someone sent back. So, in an answer to your question, don't even think twice about buying a B-stock subwoofer from SVS. I did, and I couldn't be happier.

Just as a side note; The Pioneer comes with a really nice remote. Lots of learning capabilities, and very fuctional. It controlled all of my components very well, although I have recently bought an MX-500(just because I like alot of the extra features on it). Happy hunting.... Oh, and yes it is nice to have the color choice with the RF-5's. My whole setup will be cherry, as soon as my RC-7 shows up!

Maybe they will make an announcement at this years CES in Las Vegas....

Well, it is true that the RB-5's are not the lightest speaker(23lbs I think), and wall mounting was a little tricky, but I was able to hit a stud on all four screws. The way the holes are arranged is in a vertical line slightly offset so it is very easy to line up with vertical wall studs. The bracket that I used is the B-Tech BT-77 wall mount rated up to 55 lbs each. I has looked at a lot of wall mounts, and this was the only one that I really liked the design of. With regards to the rear porting issue. Yes the speaker is very close to the wall, but the MCACC on my Pioneer Elite really helped to smooth out that problem. I know that it is probably not the best thing to do, but it sounds good to me, and I wanted a fuller sound from behind, because I am really getting interested in DVD-Audio.

Although I know that there are some people that use the RC-7 with the RF-3's, it is not a reccommended setup(not propper timbre matching). Also RF-3's front and rear would be fine, especially if you are really into listening to music(DVD Audio/SACD). I noticed that you are now leaning towards the 3803. Did you get a chance to listen to both of tose receivers with the RF-3's? Let your ears make the decision. Just as a note, I got my 45TX from accoustic sound design, and would certainly buy from them again.

Go for the SVS! It is worth every penny . The 25-31, actually has more SPL output than the 20-39(just doesn't go as low). If you do choose to go with SVS, you can have your 25-31 tuned to 22HZ, esentially making it a 22-31, at no extra charge. Just make sure to specify that when ordering.

I agree with the above posts, definitely DO NOT skimp on the sub. With as large of a room as you are trying to fill with sound, this would be a very bad move. SVS 25-31PCi can be had for $549 plus shipping(sometimes you can find them for $50 less in the B-stock section, that is where I got mine). This will still leave you about $750 dollars for your reciever, based upon my calculations. The klipsch speakers are very efficient, so don't worry about the 75 watts per channel on the H/K vs the 110 watts on the Denon. Are you looking @ authorized or non-authorized dealers for the Klipsch?
