audio-nut
Two years ago I bought a a set of RF-3's. I have been enjoying them driven by a NAD AV316. I want to add some home theatre support so I am looking at the RS-3 II, and RC-3 II. Since they are from a different series are they still timbre matched. Is there anything else I need to know about this setup? Thanks!
justin_tx_16
they are the same series. RF means Reference Floor Standing, RC means Reference Center RS means Reference Surround All are reference, all made to work together flawlessly. audio-nut
I understand what the S,C and F mean. The question I was getting at was what does the series II mean? How do they differ from series I? Do they still match perfectly? btw I love the bender icon you got.
KAR
The Rf3II's,Rs3II's,Rc3II's are wired with monster cable. I think thats the only difference.
zandern
Different wiring and the RF-3II's have the Klipsch logo on the inside so if you take your grill of you can still see the logo. Also the grill on the RF-3II's are angled at the very bottom so if you tip you speaker forward the grill won't break. But other than that I believe no difference. They should however still be timbre matched.
Vladi
If you look up the specs, you will find out that: RF-3 max. continuous power handling is 225W, but the RF-3II is 150W RS-3 max. continuous power handling is 75W, and the RS-3II is 110W Also the woofer in RF-3 is K-1038-S, and in RF-3II is K-1038-SB Don't know why, but I think they should be voice-matched. Best bet is to call Klipsch.
audio-nut
Thanks for the help everyone! I guess i got the better for the RF-3's with the increased power handling (not like I need to use it with the efficient design) call Klipsch? What's the number? Guest BobG
The Reference and Reference II are voice matched. You can mix with confidence.
