Dual powered subwoofers

There going to sound the same so that could be disadvantage or advantage, depending on what you want. Many people like to have different subs so one may hit lower better than the other. (one may sound great 20-35hz the other 35-?) Having two subs is nice. Place them in different corners for different effects and more listening area. Then if you have the same sub, they will sound the same and just have more effect or sound all around.

Welcome to the forum...

Zandern hit on why some people have 2 different subs.

The main reason to have two identical subs is to create more Sound pressure levil (SPL) in your HT. There is only so much sound a single speaker can create.

I have my two subs next to each other to get the most power, gets about 5 more db by having the two side by side in the same corner.

You can put them in there own corners, but there is a higher chance of creating frequency cancellation when doing so, especailly in Low frequency because the sound waves are so long.
