KT88
Again...my vote for the original K77 Alnico tweeter. Especially the seamless impulse throughout the freq spectrum and the matching dispersion pattern. Despite all the recent measures like new polyester caps and remagnetization, the tweeter still had an audible amount of fried bacon sound, albeit less than a K77M I also had mounted. For the last two days we have had the living room with full bookshelves fitted to the opposite wall. They were previously in the bedroom, there are many books. So the room is significantly more damped. This has led to the fact that these disturbing sound admixtures of the K77 have almost completely disappeared. What remains is a very finely drawn sound of the tweeter that is now also really fun with violins. I have never had another speaker that reacts so sensitively to room damping. Invidiosulus
They are still frying bacon, you just aren’t hearing it multiple times due to reflection.
KT88
That‘s a good explanation and may be true as the character keeps the same. Anyway the sound is more bearable and less tiring.
