subegt Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 The Heresy HIP was discussed in the General Questions forum but I thought I could ask a few questions here. Is the HIP 8 or 16ohm? I thought pro equipment is 16ohm. Does the HIP have a terminal block or 1/4in plug? Are they a good match with LaScalas for home use? JohnA Posted January 4, 2003 Share Posted January 4, 2003 Aside from being too darn ugly for home use, they would be a pretty fair match for La Scalas. I tested them as rear channels. Mine had the same squawker and tweeter as my La Scalas and the crossover is a slightly modified Type AA. They sound "hot". The squawker and tweeter are run at 104 dB and the woofer is said to be 103 dB at best. I found they made female singers soumd sort of like they had a chest cold and lots of older rock recordings were quite tizzy with highs. Recordings of acoustic music sounded good. Mine will be an outdoor PA, so they'll work well. Mine had 5-way binding posts and I'm sure they are 8 ohms. John Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
