A dynaco 416 should power the subs Ok ,..i would think.... 1 per channel?,.. in a medium sized,..but fully dampened..carpeted room.. Or second choice would be a pro carver amp what to u think..? Im going somwhere with all these questions by the way. Maybe not the last word in bottom octave extension, for sure, but still, that set-up should absolutely drill you into the back wall! You go!. I picked lascalla's because,.having sold them a way's back,..i know that they are ,Dynamic, agressive, and very fast! The perfect match for a movie soundtrack I picked Pro subs, because i don't hear that mushy extension,.. present in some of the better home subs..(mind you..not all of them) and these were used in the MCM grand setup ,.. so i figured would be a nice match for the Lascalla's. and being kind an old fashioned sound person i like everything powering from its own amp channel...all discreet electronics. (comes from working for a pro sound installer while in college) the sound setup so far: speakers: ktp 484 subs (x2) Klipsch lascalla left center right KLipsch in-wall for surrounds (sides ,rear) model TBA, 3 sides,(each side).2 in rear. stewart center channel ready screen man...these are expensive!! Amplifiers: Dynaco stereo 416 (subs) 1 per channel Harman /kardon cit 16/a left-right fronts Harman /kardon cit 16/a center,spare Bryston 2BLP sides, rear surrond Hammond locking,fan cooled rack independent double ,filtered 20A service for main/sub/surround amplifiers amp rack to be stationed behind center lascalla ,behind screen. monster cable wiring from speakers to rack.
