Ezekiel
When I try to play a dvd on my computer seems like my dd-5.1 is not getting any digital signal. It reads stereo on the coaxial input. But when I play a dvd on my game console, the decoder picks up the digi' signal (reads dolby digital). Here's what I did. I enabled digital output on my soundcard.Enabled s/pdif for my dvd software decoder (WinDVD,not a trial version). And select 5.1 surround on the movie audio menu. And still nothing. Please help. Obsidiansoul
This is just a shot in the dark being as I don't know what brand of soundcard you have in your system, but if it's Creative there is a setting that just might help (similar setting is likely for other soundcards). Go to the Creative folder in the Start menu and find Creative AudioHQ. Double-click on "Device Controls" and it should open with the "Digital Input" showing. Click the drop-down menu and choose "SPDIF Bypass". If this works, you'll need to change the setting back to "Default" for normal system use. Hope this helps.
