e.coli
I just put in a Philips AE and the EAX effects are much better than my old Maxi Fortissimo, but it really brings out the treble and those horns are deadly. I want some kind of equalizer to tone down the high treble just a bit. What are you folks using with this set up?
Movie Freak
When I first got my Pro's I noticed the sharp high's right away as well. I simply turned down the treble in the windows audio/volume control panel. I have my bass at 55% and my treble at 40-45%. It made a big difference for me. I wouldn't use winamp's EQ, it didn't make as big a difference as the window's control panel settings and didn't sound as good. Just double click your volume control icon in the systray and click on advanced or try start menu - programs - accessories - entertainment - volume control - advanced... good luck! ------------------ Movies take us to a place we would like to be and away from a place we would like to forget. rol1
Usually your soundcard comes with a software equalizer that addresses the particular hardware in the AE card.
e.coli
The AE has a bass and treble slider and it works ok but I found a great solution for my personal tastes. I took off the face plates, stuffed cotton balls into the horn openings, taped them in place with scotch tape and put the plates back on. Sounds perfect to me now Gun shots in c-strike are just right.
