Craig6519
After recieving an e-mail from a friend of mine about his HH Scott 299A amp he's gotten me intrigued about how good it sounds. So hjere come the questions, 1) What is the difference between the 299A,B,C? I've seen all these models for sale. 2) Could I incorporate this into my existing HT system?, i want to be able to swith between my reciever+amp combo for HT to the Scott for 2 channel, can this be done? Any info you might be able to offer would be appreciated. Thanks Craig
NOSValves
The 299 A/B are about the same when it comes right down to the nitty griddy. They both employ the 7189 output tubes that are fairly easy to obtain and aren;t going to break your bank account to buy. The 299 C/D both use 7591 output tubes that in NOS form cost a pretty penny and are hard to find. The only vurrent production version of this tube is to large to allow the use of a case with the amp. The 299 A/B both put out a heathly 17 to 20 watts 299A 17Watts 299B 21Watts The 299 C/D put out 30 to 35 watts. Wattage isn't that important with Klipsch speakers !! I've had both type of Scotts and prefer the sound of the 299 A/B Craig
