chiliflake
I have a pair of Cornwall II's I bought new in 1987. One of the woofers now seems to emit a very slight buzzing noise when very low bass tones are played through it. Does this mean that the woofer in that speaker is 'blown'? And if it is, what should I do to get it repaired. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
jnorv
I had a similar problem with my La Scala's. My problem turned out to be a loose screw holding the woofer in place. I replaced all 4 of the screws with allen head cap screws. Noise went away. Jim N
HDBRbuilder
Cornwall woofers are held onto motorboard by WOOD SCREWS...not machine screws...you could have a slightly loosened wood screw securing the woofer there causing that buzz...or it may be something else...hard to make the call without seeing the speaker and hearing the buzz...but you can check for a loose screw...or a place where the veneer has slightly separated from the motorboard...if it is veneer buzzing, then just glue it back.
