Using DD5.1 with Klipsch Quintet speakers

Okay, okay. I'm beyond the denial stage now. My Promedia 4.1's are dead! But now what? I'm not going to buy another set of Promedia's, that's for sure. I really like the Quintet micro system - but can I still use my DD5.1 for decoding? Would I need to also purchase a separate preamp or receiver? Or am I better off selling the DD5.1 and purchasing a new receiver/decoder - I'm looking at $1000 or less for a kickin' home theater.

You can still use your DD-5.1. What you need is a 5-channel power amplifier and a powered sub, like the Klipsch KSW-10 which is a package deal with the Quintets.

Use the DD-5.1 just like a preamp processor, just set all the speakers to small.
