“Whitening” birch CBR to mimic the modern maple

Has anyone had any luck whitewashing or whatestaining their vintage Birch Cornwalls to get a similar look as the modern white maple that Klipsch custom is putting out?

 

That with a lamb wool grill is a beautiful combo.

 

i may just need to veneer it, which is fine, but it would be easier to avoid all of that.

Don't  know if old wood but "fresh"  brich is rather white, probably even whiter than maple. Fine sanded it has almost pearly look.

RAW birch has always been one of my favorite Klipsch finishes... if you want maple, get maple veneer.

I'd actually like to see someone paint their Cornwall's or La Scala's Vantablack...
