kd5ftn
I'm wondering how everyone normally sets their volume levels on their PC and on the speakers. I have a 4 channel SB Live! card I normally leave wave and main volume on the PC at 100% and just control the volume to my liking on the speaker control. Is this not the optimal way to set it? as in the high volume in the software mixer could introduce distortion into my volume? I figure the highest software volume gives the best signal/noise ratio
pinipig523
i actually try to control the volume on the promedias VIA the pc volume control. I have Windows Media Player 9 set to max and the 4.1s set to around 40% (volume and bass)... and I control it from the pc. This way, I odnt burn out the potentiometers on the volume knobs any earlier than they should.
Samwise
Wow, I do the exact same thing as pinipeg. I have a Hercules GTXP so I control the volume through there.
