Btrigg
Thats a really powerful amp your gonna need for 5000 rms.
CatKnight
5000 watts * 8 = 40,000 watts RMS probably want 50,000 for margin. 50,000 watts = 50 kilawatts run that for 4 hours and you've used as much electricity as most people do in a month. Paragon
"If Your Mirror Isnt Shaking YOU GOT RIPPED OFF!!!!" hehe What gets me is the ratio of diameter to height.. looks more close to 1:1 than a 3:1.. something wrong there.. 34".. I doubt it.. wouldn't even fit in your car.. looks more like 8" or so with that 2" foam. Not really worth the price of it.. esp. since you need a 5kW amp. Them amps alone would be good for a heater tho.. Since I am more into the HTS setups.. http://www.decware.com/hwk15.htm "This enclosure will properly load rooms between 144 sq. ft. and 32,000 sq. ft. with extremely serious bass. Enough to cause minor damage in homes - hence the name! " WitePages - last config : "Remember, we levetated a floor rug with this thing using only one! Ray Garrison
Well, courtesy of The Perfect Vision's website at http://www.theperfectvision.com/news/news_0119_2.htm we have: "Krell's Master Reference Subwoofer Krell's Dan D'Agostino has never been one for compromise or half-measures in tackling an engineering problem, a trait exemplified by the new Master Reference Subwoofer. Perhaps the most ambitious subwoofer ever devised, the Master Reference features 2600W of Krell amplification, dual 15" woofers with a 3" excursion, and a digitally controlled crossover. The enclosure, which occupies four square feet of floor space, is machined from a solid block of aluminum. This extraordinary technique was reportedly required to contain the enormous pressure inside the cabinet produced by the dual 15" woofers. According to Krell, no wood-based enclosure could withstand the extreme forces involved without flexing. Not only is the Krell Master Reference Subwoofer the most massive subwoofer on the market, it's also the most expensive at $28,000. I'd love to hear it; it could be revelatory. If I get the chance, I'll tell you about it. "
CatKnight
hahaha that thing is 4 cubic feet it wouldn't fit in your car!
Paragon
Not for your car.. I wonder what pressures it creates. Seems like 1" think Oak woudl work.. but Aluminum is cool Wonder what difference an Al box has on sound compared to wood...
