  1. so i guess the speakers have arrived in the U.S. they are no longer waiting on customs. then again if something goes wrong with quality check, are u gonna have to send it back to china and wait for them to fix it b4 it gets caught back in customs coming back to the U.S. again? man that would suck.
  2. which part of china? lol maybe i can tell someone to go over and pick up a few for me hehehe.
  3. what kind of outputs does your dvd have? if it has 5.1 channel outputs, i believe you can attach those directly to the pm 5.1 or any other speakers with preamp. getting the picture into the computer monitor is another thing, gotta have some sort of decoder or something. i use a pioneer dvd rom which costs 50 dollars and the quality is great even when i do TV out into my tv. i dont see a difference with my sony dvd which i have with my home theater outside. anyway, hope this helps.
  4. i can definitely hear the difference after the speaker wire upgrade.
  5. umm im using the game theater xp now but since the 5.1s haven't come out yet and i dont know what connections are there iw ouldn't know how to ocnnect them. right now tho i have my v2 400s rear and front analogs attached to the rear and front outputs of the game theater xp and my center channel i have ocnneted to a set of promedia 2.1s wit the subwoofer channel left out. the thing with the game theater is if the subwoofer is going to have its own line for the 5.1s i dunno if the subwoofer will even be in use when just playing songs. for me the subwoofer output on the game theater doesn't output any sound unless im on 6 speaker 5.1 for dvds. hope this helps alil
  6. hey you should pick up the cp-1. its the 4.1 preamp, it improves sound as well. also includes a headphone output and also a input for mp3 players or discmans or minidisc players. only available off klipsch website tho. i sound like im working for klipsch now =X. hey if u go buy one tell them to pay me commission.
  7. i can see where argyle is coming from with his points and its kind of true. spring clips would be great for the speakers and it should of been done for the 4.1s and 2.1s. it would be great if klipsch can let us upgrade just the speakers. that would be nice.
  8. yea those are quintets. my setup with the 2.1s flat on top of my monitor makes it look sort of like the quintets hehe. but those aren't the 5.1. someone else posted the 5.1 pics b4 now the thread is gone i dunno what happened.
  9. someone post the link b4 and i took a peak. now the thread is gone!!! =[ where it go. i should of saved it.
  10. so its for sure coming out? wow i guess the 4.1s wont get anymore business.
  11. ok this is how i did it. radio shack product number 274-868 and some 16 gauge wire. attach one wire to one side and screw it on with the tiny screw. i did that by twisting the wire around the screw and then screwing it in then i put black tape around it and did the same for the other side. then after that just twist the plug back together and ur set. gave me a blister or two but the sound quality does sound better. as far as a negative for side and a positive for the other, im not even sure i just put it together and it sounds great. im guessing it dont matter because they are mono? im not sure. if u need more help just email me i'll try my best to help ya out.
  12. i think ur best bet is to tell someone who lives in the u.s. to order it for ya then send it to you because klipsch told me only their online store offers the wb-1
  13. finally found an adapter. a phono to 1/8" stereo its radio shack part number 274-387. works great for now, but not too sure if its messing up the sound quality or not, cant really tell but when i watch dvds they sound great with both sats producing sound. as long as they good i'll keep it that way.
  14. hey windstorm, thanks for the help, i'll look for those plugs in radio shack and see if i can come up with anything. hopefully i do. skim right now on my setup i have the 2.1 as my front channel and the back channel is the rear speakers of my v2. the front speakers of the v2 i got as my center channel since the center channel is only used during movies so when i play cds or something with my 4 speakers i get both subs. the 4 speakers i have on each corner of my room and the center channel is next to my monitor, i think thats the setup you were looking for too right? for now i have upgraded to 16 gauge wire using the radio shack plugs, i didn't want to break into the speakers because im not a real techie and i didn't want to break anything but even with the radio shack i can still hear a difference in sound quality. currently only my rear two speakers have the 16 gauge wire and when i listen to music, sometimes i only use those two speakers because they sound that much better. im not sure if its because im doing something wrong with the setup or whatever but they sound great. hopefully i can find the perfect adapter to produce sound into both speakers onthe center channel then the system would be set. right now its already really great, watching any 5.1 movie is a killer in my room. i'll keep ya updated and let me know what you come up with in the speaker wire situation. thanks
  15. hey rem, what sound card are you using to produce sound too all the channels? i put my vs 400s with a set of 4.2 b4 just for fun but only got 6 channels with sound because my center and subwoofer out on my sound card only gave sound to the left speaker. it was already way too much, i cant imagine all 8 speakers going at it.
  16. ur right, my adapter is a rca phono from a 1/8" mono. but i dont see any rca phono from a 1/8" stereo plug from radio shack. the only ones i see is a phono from a 1/8" stereo. some ppl told me a center channel going into two speakers would sound weird, but i wanna see for myself =X
  17. combining two 4.1? what kind of sound card you have? two 4.1s would be alot of channels. i have a set of v2 400 and recently purchased a set of 4.2 i have one 2.1 as my center channel right now with a game theater xp.
  18. yea, just pull it back, might take alil while but keep pulling it comes out. only slide it tho because any other movement might break it.
  19. i heard about this problem for the 4.1 i have a set of v2 400 and i dont get that problem either but i also purchased a set of 4.2 and both subs on that get pretty hot.
  20. windstorm, the game theater has seperate center channel and subwoofer outs. is the reason why you only get output to only the left channel because its stereo? let me know thanks.
  21. skim, big dissappointment =<[bR>my supposedly 6.2 system turned into a 5.2 system. the center channel output is only being received by the left speaker. which really sucks but the sound quality is still there. basically you cant really tell because the center channel is all dialogue and only coming from one speaker =[. if you already have a 4.1 or a v2 400 just invest in a different type of center channel but do get the game theater, im telling you its great. if you want more info email me i can tell you all the tests i have ran and everything with sub placements. my plan now is maybe to sell my v2 400s to a friend and pick up and use my 4.2 and find a different center channel. but im not gonna change anything until i figure out that there is a perfect center channel to go with the game theater. the way it is now with a 5.2 the bass definitely beefed up and the sound quality is still definitely there, just that 175 dollars for one speaker sitting on the side doing nothing is not worth it.
  22. zmatrix. i haven';t heard the 4.1's b4 but i know that the 4.2's sound really good. just by testing one half of it the 2.1 i know with both of them together, u'll get real nice sound.
  23. hey, it came out to be 350 for me. for fedex ground, i just got it today, haven't hooked them up yet but hooked up the set for my other comp, the 2.1s sound really good. its got some good pop on the bass. i would say that two 2.1's are far better than my original set of v2 400s. thats if u got the room for the subs.
  24. alienware. you attached the cables into the back without any plug? you got any pictures? i would also like to know where you got this monster cable, sounds really good. jascin, u need a two conductor mono plug. its product number 274-868 from radio shack. ur lucky ur radio shack guy knows alil osmething, i went to my radioshack and the guy said, "these things attach to speaker wire?"
