rgillette
Does anyone know how or has anyone converted a 4.1 system to a 5.1? Klipsch told me that is was possible if I bought a 2.1 system and ran only a center channel, plus i would have two subs. What do you think? Thanks, Rob
InnovaZero
Yes, you can hook up the 2.1 system with a 4.1 system to make a 5.1 system. You would use the two speakers, put them together for a center channel...other two would be front left/front right, and then you have 2 surrounds/rears. The extra subwoofer you could use as a rear sub, and then the 4.1 as the main front sub.
MD1032
WOW, now you're talking. Hey, that way you don't have to worry about them break or if one breaks you can always use the other.
Ohm
And if you have a LAN you could just take the 2.1s
seventeenmonkeys
but how would you connect everything. i always thought i could connect my 4.1s to the back front jacks of the sound card, then i would connect the 2.1s to the center jack of the sound card. isn't this right? Samwise
Thats right seventeen monkeys, also see innovazero's post. But if you want a really sweet system you need two 4.1 sets hooked up to a 7.1 sound card. It rules!
