Right now, I would have the money for the following:

Adcom GFA-555 or GFA-555 MkII (200 x 2 @ 8 ohms)

Yamaha RX-V596 receiver or my current receiver until I find the need to upgrade

Klipsch RF-3's for front mains

Klipsch RC-3 for center

Klipsch Quintet for surrounds due to the lack of $$$ to get the RS-3's

How do you think this would sound?

I've heard that the klipsch-yamaha sound can be a bit bright and if I add the adcom amp I've heard it can be bright as well.

If I couldn't find the $$$ for the RC-3 what would be a good substitute for the time being?

Thanks a bunch,

mike

I think you'll love it--I would!

As for as a substitute for the RC-3, don't worry about it. You can feed the center information to the mains with the Yammy until you get a center. That's what I did. Save your money, the wait will make you enjoy it even more.

Of course once the new Refs come out shortly, you may decide you have to have them instead!

We need must love the highest when we hear it!

the yammy rxv596 has just been replaced by a rxv620 which now incorporates their 'top art' design for better digital processing. previously you had to go to their $799 rxv800 to get 'top art'.the rxv620 goes for about $499. GET THE ADCOM AMP!! talk about bang-for-the-buck!! you'll really light up those speakers w/ that amp. avman

As a long time owner of Adcom amps you can't go wrong with them. They are rock solid, sound great, and really pound a set of speakers.

Good Luck.
