SF1 sealed or ported design?

Recommended Posts

Sorry to post such a dumb question, but I was sent a Klipsch catalogue stating that SF1s were a sealed design; although all the specs found on this site, indicate it's a ported design...

Which could eventually cause me some trouble with placement.

Many thks for your answer.

Rear port, only a problem if placed up aginst a wall. Can they be placed out a foot or so?

I've used rear ported Klipsch seakers only inches away from the wall with no noticeable sound differences, but they were surrounds. It would hinder the bass response some, but don't know how much

As Steve said, they are ported. I have SF-1's for center channel on either side of the tv and about 8" from the wall. I also have SF-2's for front mains that are about 6" from the wall. Both of them sound fine, but neither speaker has a lot of bass output to begin with.

The Synergy Series won't rock the house, but they still sound good and clean.
