The straight goods on DVD-Burners

Recommended Posts

Ok, I kindly request opinions on a question I need an answer to regarding DVD-Burners (on computers): simply put, with a DVD-Burner, can I or can I not take a DVD movie and make a copy of it such that it will be a perfect mirror image of the original DVD, specifically in terms of video and audio quality (i.e., 5.1 channels)? Put in more blunt terms: can I rent a DVD and copy it and expect to be able to make a perfect copy of it? Of course, I would never do that and I would only apply this technology for the legimitate back-up of DVDs which I have lawfully purchased. 2.gif

I have backed up all of my DVD's, and yes, you can make perfect copies. The only thing is, if the DVD is dual layer, you have to split it between two blank discs, or re-compress it (or strip out all the crap you don't want, such as French and Spanish tracks, previews, etc...

As mentioned above, www.dvdr.com help is your best resource....
