Frzninvt
If I am not mistaken the term "warmth" is usually associated with the type of overall response that and amp reproduces. Warmth could be described as a bass response that is smooth and deep without being boomy/muddy and the high frequencies silky smooth/crisp without being edgy or shrill. Overall, just a good balance of the two attributes. Warmth is also a term most used for tube type amplifiers since they can consistently deliver that type of sound. However, there are a few Solid State amplifiers that have the capability as well, alot of them being capable of running in Class "A" which will reproduce warm sounding tones. However, this is just my take on it.
easylistener
Well put Frzninvt, I could have described it better. If you want to hear the differnce then go to some audio stores and just listen to some, you will hear the differnce between the amps. Klipsch speaker are crisp to begain with and that is why tubes sound so good with them. Agian warm. I have and like SS amps, but I have found that to realy sound good you need one that will run in class A. Most of the better amps will run class A for the first couple of watts and then switch to A/B. I hope this helps a little more.
