agentdaffy007
Hi, I got home yesterday and i boot up my computer. I play half of a song "mp3" and my room smells like burned toast. I was freaking out and was investigating if it was from the PC, monitor, fan or subwoofer. I turned everything off and i notice that the back of my subwoofer is EXTREMELY hot. I mean, i played half of a song, it shouldn't be that hot. Upon closer inspection, it seems like my subwoofer is emitting that burnt smell. Imagine if i play 30 minutes of music, i bet my subwoofer would be on fire... Not only my speakers pump out a constant hiss, now the sub smells like burnt toast. And the worst thing is i just bought the ProMedia 4.1 Monster Cable Upgrade Kit. What should i do now? P.S: I have the set for 2 months now! MD1032
Sounds like you're dead. Get a new set from CC for 180. BTW, can I have your cables?
agentdaffy007
hehe, do you want my Omnimount RB-1 stands as well?
MD1032
Actually, stands would be nice, but I don't need them as bad as I do other things like a soundcard or wires.
agentdaffy007
Which sound card you got? I am using the kick *** Diamond Monster MX-300. The best card for Counter-Strike!
MD1032
I use a SoundBastard Live 5.
Big Sheesh
Are your burnt out 4.1's the refurbished version? I've had my brand new non-refurbs for almost 3/4 of a year now and I'm loving it. I just installed the real deal monster cables 2 weeks back and they're great. I notice sound improvement alright!
agentdaffy007
Hi, Big: No, they are not refurbs. I didn't even get the chance to try my Monster Cable yet! It's so sad. I am using my headphones to listen to music now. At least i can play Counter-Strike with headphones which is better IMHO. MD: I hate Creative, i think they are an unethical company. And their drivers always sucked. I remember the first day of Voodoo 2. If i have to buy a sound card, i would get something from Turtle Beach. Never bought something from Creative and never will. Actually my CD-ROM is from Creative and now it's taking dust.
agentdaffy007
Do you guys know if Klipsch will repair or exchange my sub? It's still under warranty! If they decide to exchange, will they give me brand new sub or will it be refurbished? -Mike
MD1032
Hoe can I tell which model I have? I can't find a serial on the back of my sub. No green dot either wherever it is.
pinipig523
4.1s do not have serial numbers or little green dots.
MD1032
OK. There is one number on it, but the serial doesn't have a date or letter I can find in it.
