arco
When I rewired my 1999-vintage KH's, I noticed that the wiring of the squawker - in both units - was reversed: i.e. +wire from crossover went to -terminal of squawker. Checking the AK3 schematic, I found that it shouldn't be so and I reversed the connections... Although everything leads me to believe it has been a wiring fault, it could also be so just to correct the phase of the squawker vs the rest of the speakers. Something, I understand, quite difficult to check by ear alone. Might also be that my AK3 schematic is an older version... Any ideas somebody? pzannucci
Hopefully a Klipsch Rep will answer your question. Many times the mids are wired out of phase to correct the response peaks and valleys in the crossover region. Peter Z.
