What is codec? for winmedia player?

I'm no Guru, but Codec stands for "coder-decoder!" It's the piece of software that encodes the video (or audio) into a bitstream and then it gets decoded back by the program. ~I think. The codec for the program is usually just part of the program. Check under control panel and go to sound & multimedia. There's a Device tab there.... (of course I'm running Windows ME, and yours might look different.) J smile.gif

yeah a codec is nothing more than the algorithm that determines how a piece of video is encoded/decoded.

with windows media player you need to download codecs sometimes to make them work.

like the divx codec.

i don't know what codec is required for your particular video clips.

try to look on the web again and if you can't find nething I'll try aight?
