GrrEightOne
I'm no Guru, but Codec stands for "coder-decoder!" It's the piece of software that encodes the video (or audio) into a bitstream and then it gets decoded back by the program. ~I think. The codec for the program is usually just part of the program. Check under control panel and go to sound & multimedia. There's a Device tab there.... (of course I'm running Windows ME, and yours might look different.) Seb
yeah a codec is nothing more than the algorithm that determines how a piece of video is encoded/decoded. with windows media player you need to download codecs sometimes to make them work. like the divx codec. i don't know what codec is required for your particular video clips. try to look on the web again and if you can't find nething I'll try aight? Seb
maybe that file is corrupted. but yeah most often windows media player won't be able to find the right codec. try using another player to play the file
GrrEightOne
An MPG file is an MPEG compressed file. So.. if you go to download.com or another share/freeware site you can find tons of other MPeg or AVI movie players that should work great.
