boa12
avad, sorry missed your IM - i jump around the whole WWW a lot - so i guess it then became a PM. dolby specs for LFE are a max of 120hz. still, like avaman says, i'd turn it off if it allows. shouldn't be much if any dif though. ------------------ Klipsch KLF 30 (front), KLF C-7, Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer Monsterbass 400 sub interconnects & Monster CX-2 biwire & Z-12 cable Marantz SR-8000 receiver Sony DVP-C650D cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Technics dual cassette deck Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box Boa's Listenin Lounge: Klipsch RF-3 (front), RC-3, cheap little Technics (rear) Monster MCX Biwires Sony STR-DE935 a/v receiver Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage 1975) Russound AB-2 receiver switch to RF-3 Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd changer Technics direct drive turntable Sega Genesis game player Sub: None yet rock on! Speaking of EQ settings, does anyone know if the EQ settings go up to the Hz setting you select, or are you setting just the one particular setting. (hope you know what I mean!!) FYI, I think those crossover settings might only apply if you have the speaker set to "small".
avaddict
STL, Thanks for picking up on that! boa12
avad, yea so maybe u should have your fronts set to large. w/ sony if u set fronts to small then it auto forces u to set rears to small. if u have wired or do wire that boston sub into your rears though you'll want the rears as large. see what i mean about some of the receivers & the bass mgmt conflicts . shouldn't make much dif for u anyway though because the upper section of the rp-5 starts getting cut-off at 90hz by the speaker itself. but if u run the fronts as large then u shouldn't at least get much cascading/conflict w/ both the receiver & speaker crossovers working at the same time. ------------------ Klipsch KLF 30 (front), KLF C-7, Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer Monsterbass 400 sub interconnects & Monster CX-2 biwire & Z-12 cable Marantz SR-8000 receiver Sony DVP-C650D cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Technics dual cassette deck Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box Boa's Listenin Lounge: Klipsch RF-3 (front), RC-3, cheap little Technics (rear) Monster MCX Biwires Sony STR-DE935 a/v receiver Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage 1975) Russound AB-2 receiver switch to RF-3 Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd changer Technics direct drive turntable Sega Genesis game player Sub: None yet rock on! avaddict
Boa, Had a busy day today! Moved the Boston sub to the rear of the room, had to buy a new a/v rack because the sat. receiver used to sit on top of the 10" sub!! just got everything (except the 10" sub) back together again! Adjusted the "toe-in" on the RP-5s (as well as placement) and I'm loving the sound so far!!!! I'm gonna' set all to large and go downstairs to wire that sub up next! (maybe not tonight) I'll let you know! ------------------ Sony 333ES Receiver Sony 36" Wega Sony DVP-C650D cd/dvd Klipsch RP-5s Front Klipsch RC-3 Center Klipsch KSB1.1 Rears Boston 10" sub Hughes DD Sat Receiver
