Benning GA..I 75 south out of michigan...to attend the graduation cerimonies of my youngest son from the army bootcamp there...He has Completed the regular bootcamp ..and ...the Advanced Infantry Trainning course. He got on the bus back in April and is really homesickfor some home cooking..I guess the food sucks there.....He's commin' home for about a month and I guess ,from what he says, he's going to be stationed in Hawaii after his leave...I'd say "some people have all the luck" but from there it could be Korea or Irac...liberia....now it gets scarey........so I won't be able to keep up on the forum for bout' a week.....be back saturday...so long.......gc Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Dix, NJ back in '81 (the armpit of the world), and my first permanent duty station was with the famous 1st Cavalry Division, Ft. Hood, TX (hence, my nickname "jt1stcav"). From there, I was off to Ludwigsburg, Germany for almost 3 years...loved every minute of it. I wanted to be assigned to Hawaii as well, but there was no openings for my military occupational skill (MOS). Anyway, have a safe trip. fabulousfrankie Posted August 4, 2003 Share Posted August 4, 2003 My fiancee was suppossed to be stationed in Hawaii, but a week before she was suppossed to leave it changed to Ft. Carson, CO.
