Mighty Favog
I'm not gonna try to sound sarcastic or anything of the like but....welcome to the world of Carver. I have a few of their pieces and this stuff is heavy duty, almost downright brutle. I just got a C-1 preamp for my KLF-20's and a nice Rotel amp and let me tell ya, that preamp is harsh to say the least. The fact that your Klipsch's are so sensitive only accentuates the "turn off POP!!". If it happens if you use the switch on the front of the amp that is just a spark jumping between the contact points of the switch itself. Although indignant, not to worry. If your using some kind of outlet strip and use the switch on IT to power down then it could just be the capacitors discharging. I don't think this is the case since most Carver amps turn off the speaker relays before the discharge happens anyway. But in a nutshell, your not doing harm to the ol' beauties. Don't get me wrong, I've been a Carver fan for about twenty years. It's just when I got the 20's that the topography of almost everything else in the system had to change. ------------------ Tom KLF-20 Mahogany Carver C-1 Rotel RB-1080 Yamaha PF-800 Turntable/ Sure V15 Type V Cartridge Carver TL-3100 CD Yamaha K-1020 Cassette (maybe being mothballed) dbx 1231 EQ H.H. J M O N
Since you have a solid state amp, consider leaving it powered on all the time. It is better for the amp and you will avoid the pops.
