Craig6519
Of the existing surrounds being manufactured by klipsch, which model would best suit KLF-30's and C7 as surrounds in your opinion? Craig
garymd
Craig, Are these to be used mainly for movies or music or both? If just movies, good reference surrounds would sound fine (RS-7, etc.). If for music, you may want to match with smaller legends. I use RS-3IIs due to space and WAF considerations with my heritage front and movies sound great.
Craig6519
They would be strictly for Movies Gary. Craig
kjohnsonhp
Then you have the choice of in-wall, ceiling, bookshelf, tower or RS. I've heard RB's in the rear on stands with RS on the sides (and of course RF7's up front). If you select towers then why not just buy another pair of KLF towers on the used market. Do a search on HornEd's KLF extreme HT....I think it's 7 KLF-30's with stacked SVS Ultras.
Craig6519
We'll If I could find a apir of used KLF-10's that would be perfect. But I think a new pair of RS-7 would still be cheaper. However I really never thought much anout in-walls, HMMMMMMMM Craig
garymd
The great thing about the RS series is they are meant to be used for surrounds and sound good in virtually any position, hence the shape. Even the 3 series do a great job with movies.
Craig6519
Ok Gary I'm confused, thr RS weren't meant to be surrounds? Isn't RS=Rear Surround? Craig
garymd
Craig, I thought I said they ARE meant to be surrounds. Re-read my post. Sorry if it wasn't clear.
T2K
You could try a pair of KSP-S6's. Many, many others use them with Legends. I just watched a couple of movies using my KSP300 monopole surround backs. They are directional, no matter what anyone says. Keith
M6 Driver
T2K It is unfortunate that one has to pay a premium to get a used pair of the KSP S6 unless you know where there is a warehouse full of them are
Craig6519
Yeah we'll I was dumb enough to part with my KSP-S6 to support my two channel tube habit. So I'm looking for a more affordable alternative. And KSP-S6 still didn't match did they? Craig
garymd
Craig, See if you can take a pair of RS-? home to try. You may be suprised.
Craig6519
Thanks Gary I'll try to read slower in the future. By the way are there actually dealers that will let you take them home to try? Craig
avman
where they are located in MY ht room i really like the ksp-s6's,(about 2 1/2 ft.behind and 3ft.over my head, toward the back of my side walls-2 1/2ft.in front of the rear wall)however i beleive the rs-35's or rs-7's would do a great job. avman. Also, you can buy, then return the same day if you're not satisfied in most cases. Make sure first.
avman
different stores/dealers have different policies, however it IS beneficial to be able to audition at your house. avman.
Craig6519
Thanks Gary and Avman, I'll ask around. And I didn't say I didn't like my S6 I did, I just got to greedy and wanted my 2 channel stuff now and sold them. Craig

Craig6519
Yeah sounds good Hammer, you got another pair laying around? Craig
T2K
Did I say 'directional'? Musta been tired. Long hours. Unless you have lots of room for the large monopoles, I would think RS-7's would work well. Of course, they'll cost about as much as the S-6's. A pair of C-7's would work too. There goes that cost factor again. I've got a new pair of S-6's, but they are not for sale. Did you check with bigsexy1 regarding the S-6's he had for sale?
