Voodoo chile
Hello all, I just picked up a Sound Blaster Live 5.1 card and was wondering if there is a way to add a center channel to my 4.1 system? I know that the 4.1 only provides power for 4 speakers, I'm curios if there is a way to add another amped channel. Thanks for any input. MD1032
NO! For the 145,672nd time, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE!!! You would have to buy an amp and a center channel of your own with all of the neccessary converters, which is not worth it!
Voodoo chile
I already have a 4.1 system. I've had it for 2 years. 5.1 for PC's wasn't really around then. I was just asking if it was possible. You both need to cool it. See I don't want to have to dish out another $300 when the system works fine. Thanks for the attitude chumps. jackson_ngo
you are the one who asked for help, why are you asking us to cool? Is there any problem with my words?
birdman666
As it has been said, no you can't add another channel to the PM 4.1. Are there powered single channel speakers for not too much $$? I got the 4.1 refurbs, and recently picked up the 5.1 DD Decoder. He has 5.1 channel output, as do I. There are powered studio monitors out there that might do the trick, has anyone tried it? I have noticed that without the center channel, dialog can get drowned out by everything else. Has anyone had experience with a self powered single channel speaker? 007
you could add a center, however it would not be cost effective. You owould need to find a 5.1 sub and extra speaker, then you run the 5/6 chanel to the 5.1 sub and the center is pluged into that too. jackson_ngo
007, seems like you don't understand what this topic is about. it says adding a center to a "4.1" system. If you wanna say use a 5.1 sub, might as well i'll just get a true 5.1 system
