Merricus
I have used both programs and have found that PowerDVD does a better job of decoding the audio for the 4.1 system. The rear channels sound much crisper and the overall sound seems better. The Hell Unleashed Chapter from Gladiator is a good example of the difference between these two programs. Agree or Disagree? Sputnik-of-Bass
Just curious since it's been quite a while since I've used PowerDVD but does it have a bookmark option? I use WinDVD and you can set multiple "bookmarks" for any point in any DVD and instanly jump to that bookmark without fast-forwarding or searching for that favorite point. Comes in mighty handy. ant
I can't really tell the differences with the audio between WinDVD 2000 v2.3 and PowerDVD v3.0. However, my ears aren't that great to notice. Doesn't WinDVD still have superior visual (i.e. clarity and colors)?
Predsator
They're both pretty damn close. PowerDVD seems to be louder and has a little bit less noise at high volumes. I can't tell a difference in picture quality, so if there is it's minimal at best. I use PowerDVD mainly because it has more features. I want a software player that decodes DTS damnit!!! Movie Freak
I'm curious, does PowerDVD v3.0 support tv out? I tried the demo and I only got sound to my tv? Is there a block in the demo, or do I have to use the DVD Encore software that came with my decoder card? Oh, I have a creative Dxr2 DVD player and I am sending through the Svideo output on the decoder card. If it does, great, because I have had problems with some DVD's and the Creative Encore software not working. With a collection of over 240 DVD's it is pretty important to me that they all work with my system! Thanks in advance for any help! ------------------ Movies take us to a place we would like to be and away from a place we would like to forget.
