lemonman
Just FYI, Polk does have its own audio forum, and I've seen at least one Klipsch bashing thread there. One guy started a thread where he said he had the best complement for listening to Klipsch speakers, then he showed a picture of ear plugs
sunnysal
I have heard and enjoyed various Polk speakers. Like any speaker the room and other components play a HUGE roll is getting the best out of each speaker alternative. Klipsch has great dynamics in its favor but tends to sound best with "smoother" upstream components (like tube based or "tube-like" amps and preamps), and may sound strident with many mid-priced SS equipment. I find that Polk is nearly the opposite that they sound their best with the classic SS sounding components. good, clean, powerful SS components, and tend to sound too laid back and dead with tube equipment. Unfortunately then, one will sound rather bad with the others favorite upstream components. Similar observations hold for rooms, live versus dead rooms, etc. I do not know what you have in your equipment line up or what you auditioned, but buy what sounds best to you in your room with your equipment and enjoy. Obviously the great majority of us on the board have either Klipsch freindly environments where the Klipsch shine or have adapted ourselves (equipment choices, etc.) to maximize the positive qualities of Klipsch speakers. Klipsch has unique offerings in speakers for some of us there is no other choice. regards, tony
