DwK
I have a pair of Fisher STV 873's .. the tweeter on one has been replaced with a Realistic horn tweeter (i think its a horn) and the mid ranges have been replaced with REalistic speaker.. not sure of the size of any of the replacements.. they are read speakers. Well here is what I was thinking about buying to replace the Tweeters on both and the mid ranges on both with. These Tweeters This for the Mid Range Or possibly this mid range What do yall think?? I am curious as to whether or not I can buy Klipsch parts. I would realy like to get a pair of Klipsch Horn Tweeters, and Klipsch horn Mid ranges for them, if they are a reasonable price. Thanks. ------------------ K6-2 450 SB Live Value ( not 5.1) Klipsch Pro Media v2 400 ( soon to be 4.1 ) 2 Fisher STV-873's on front channel 2 Fisher surrounds on rear channel
Shock-Late
Well, DWK, I don't think it would be a good idea: -first, you would also need to buy klipsch cross-overs to match your horns, and those horns would probably be way more sensitive than your fisher woofers, resulting in an awful, unbalanced sound, with everything above, say, 1Khz sounding 10 dB louder than under 1Khz!!! -And secondly, klipsch speakers are great as a whole. It's the skill of the manufacturer that produces such great speakers; taken separately, klipsch parts are very average and not worth being used as replacement parts. You should buy, if you're short on money, a pair o second-hand klipsch, you'll have a lot more fun!
