rtaylor
Have had since new a CP 7 preamp, it was their least expensive model. Was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with this pre. I've always enjoyed the sound, went from a hafler 110. Been contemplating upgrading and or modding but don't have idea's on where one would start on this thing. Any ideas???? Thanks, Randy

NOSValves
Is yours the SA-7 ?? Craig
rtaylor
Craig, Yes it's the SA-7. A nice sounding preamp but I believe there is some room for improvement. I'm using it now with the MK-II's (triode ps and front end with all new parts) you helped me with instead of the C-20 mac, the mac is long overdue for going over also. NOSValves
The look of the layout of that preamp its going to take some careful soldering and finesse to upgrade it. Do you have the schematic for it ? Craig
rtaylor
Craig, I think so. Out of town right now but I'll check this weekend. Have you had a chance to look at those mac amps you're going to upgrade? Randy
NOSValves
Not yet but its moving up the list of things to do. I'm nocking these amps out one at a time. Craig
