spacelord2002
I've seen a few pictures of passive radiators and some of them have dents in them. I have a friend who has a pair of Forte's and for sure I know he's taken really good care of them. But he has them too! It doesn't seem to affect the tone or anything, I'm just curious as to why or how. Dave

dougdrake
I assume you are referring to the dust cap in the center of the PR (or the woofer, for that matter) rather than dents in the cone itself? In addition to pixies, they can also be caused by curious children (see it, push it), careless handling (where a hand or other body part hits them), or any number of other things, including fairies! Typically has no effect on sound. More just a cosmetic thing, as long as the dust cap isn't torn or separated from the woofer cone (which would cause it to let in, well, dust). Colin
I doubt that small dents make much difference in a passive radiator as long as there are no tears and the surrounds are still very flexible...
