Sid Posted December 4, 2003 Share Posted December 4, 2003 Hello everyone, I have the opportunity to purchase a Denon avr 4800.My question is, does this unit decode the latest surround modes? I have been to the Denon site and I'm just a little confused with all the modes.Also any opinions on this unit would be greatly appreciated. The speakers I have are all Synergy which have been sitting for six months waiting for a receiver. I have the SF-2's, SC-1, SS-1's and the KSW-12.Any help would be great and thanks to everyone for all that I've already learned since I've discovered this site......Sid Wow,It just started to snow here in Baltimore County!! Frzninvt Posted December 5, 2003 Share Posted December 5, 2003 I had the Denon AVR-4800 up until recently and yes it decodes all the current formats (DD, DD 6.1 EX, THX 6.1, DTS, DTS-ES) and can even run in 7 channel stereo if so desired.
