HTADDICT
Nobody ever talks about the sunfire subs, not even when comparing a klipsch to a velodyne or some other model, why? How would they compare to the other high end subs out there? I have yet to hear one for myself, but they do seem like they would be impressive. Anyone out there think the same? (not that I would buy anything other than klipsch)

GeorgeC
I have a few subwoofers, a couple of less expensive ones (Dahlquist PDQ-1500 and Cambridge Soundworks original Powered Sub and Slave - both good, but better for movies than music). Then I have the Sunfire True Sub Signature and Klipsch KLF-10s. Both are good for both movies and music. It's unfair to compare the two, as the Sunfire is a $1999 unit and the Klipsch had, I believe, a $1299 list. The Klipsch is decent, tight and musical, but not too impressive (that's the only Klipsch product I've ever said that about - and it was quickly discontinued). The Sunfire, though, is in another league. It's smooth when it should, and extremely dramatic when it needs to. It's the only piece of audio electronics I have that actually scares me! It's got too much power in a box so small, and I am a little afraid of it. But I have absolutely nothing bad to say about it. I love it. I am excited, though, about the new Klipsch Reference subs. Especially the huge 15" one - it was beautiful and impressive looking. I would love to hear it. And I think it's price is about the same as the Sunfire Signature I have. GeorgeC
Sorry, I just noticed my mistake above - I meant I have Klipsch LF-10 subs (not KLF-10s - which are full range speakers). Sorry for any confusion.
Q-Man
I use the Sunfire Signature with Klipschorns & LaScalas. I like it a lot. It not only can keep up with them it can get way too loud & over power them if you don't set it right. It is a sub that once you get the crossover set, you never have to change it. That's not true with the volume control. You have to adjust it for different material. It should have a remote control.
