Dan308 Posted January 25, 2004 Share Posted January 25, 2004 I'm having a problem with a Yamaha RX-V620 receiver. When I turn up the volume to -20, with 0 being max, I hear clicking static from the left & right mains. It happens no matter what input. Even Phono has the sound and it's not hooked up. Any thoughts? mbajner Posted January 26, 2004 Share Posted January 26, 2004 thats one way you can tell a cheap receiver vs a quality one. its internals are not isolated and its picking up interference. the 620 is not one of Yamaha's better receivers. try this test on a better model to compare noise levels. Dan308 Posted January 26, 2004 Author Share Posted January 26, 2004 Thanks for the reply! I used to own a Carver C2000 2 channel with Klipsch Cornwalls. I remodeled and got rid of everything because I wanted 5.1 and had limited space. BIG MISTAKE! I have Klipsch speakers but bought the Yam because of good reviews.
