kuisis
Does anyone know anything about the Shengya tube cd player? I've been seeing them for sale on audiogon and other places and would like to know if anyone has any first hand or even second hand knowledge. garymd
Wish I could help but I've only vaguely heard of it. I have heard good things about tube CD players in general however. Can you take it home for a trial spin? Good luck.

jboat
I believe that the shengya tube cd s-6 is identical to the vincent cd s-6. Only difference is that vincent (a high-end german manufacturer) sells it for $1,200 and you can get the shegya for much much much less directly from importers (that includes a $100 shipping fee). Shengya also has a cd s-10 which appears possibly to have been upgraded in some fashion. The cd s-10 is about $450 (that includes shipping). do not underestimate high end chinese audio equipment. i saw one instance of a chinese integrated solid state amp that sells for $1,000 and is resold under a different label here in the us for $10,0000 and its considered a great amp. jt1stcav
Is this the same tube CD player on eBay lately? I don't recall the model, but the one I'm thinking of is a 220V version, and a voltage converter power supply is either added, or at an extra charge. If not, then at least ask the seller if a 110V US version is available. It is an attractive player with a Music Hall-like round window in the center displaying one of its two 6922 output tubes. Other Chinese tube CD players to consider are from Shanling and Cayin, not to mention the infamous JoLida JD 100a.
