I Need a Subwoofer

I HAD a KSW-12 and the problem with it was that it just couldn't keep up with my Chorus II's at all. I found it bottoming out because of the levels that I play music/movies at and the bass that I like just couldn't be had with the sub I had.

So, the search I entered into turned into reading and posting about SVS reviews and comments. I talked to Eric at SVS and we discussed what I like and the levels of volume I listen to it at. I was initially going to buy a PCi model but Eric said that he thought I sould get the PC+ version because I open the windows in the summer and crank it up when I'm working outside. So I ordered it even though I hadn't heard it....All on faith and reviews.

Recieved it about a week ago and I can tell you what, that SVS 20-39PC+ absolutely blew the KSW-12 away and left it in the dust. The KSW tends to sound sort of loose when running. It's not the tight bass that you'd like to hear from it. The HT was ok, but music was not so great. The SVS sub is just pure, clean, and tight bass that I have never heard before. I played LOTR Two Towers at about 95dB last night and this sub was shaking my house like I've never heard before, and it didn't distort once.

They offer a 45 day money back guarentee and I think that if you are truely serious about bass, look SVS up and check out one of their PCi models if you are looking to save some money. I think you can get into a 25-31PCi for around $550 and you'll know where you spent your money when you recieve it and you won't regret it.

Hope this helps.

Another thing, while the RW line is good, I think it's over rated for the price. I've demo'ed the RW line and still say that SVS blows it away. If the RW line was cheaper I would indorse it more, but for the price vs. SVS, I think SVS wins hands down.

I also sold my KSW to my brother in law and he's happy with his little infinity 5.1 surround he has with this KSW now. I went over tonight and calibrated his system and it sounded pretty good in there with the KSW, but nothing near the SVS. I could still hear the sloppy bass in the KSW.

These 2 subs get rave reviews by a lot of people
