yromj
Remember a little while back we were talking about running my LFE cable under my carpet? Do you have a cable that would very easy to do this w/? In other words one that wouldn't snag easily and may even be a little smaller in diameter than normal. Any info will be appreciated. Griffinator
I've got some that are smaller in diameter - the Challenger series are pretty much a standard-diameter coaxial-type cable - just really long. As far as snagging is concerned, if you use a proper glowstick with plenty of electrical tape, you'll have no trouble. I just realized something. Monster, by their own admission, uses garden-variety RG6-type cable in their 400 and up series subwoofer cables: ...solid core conductor... Griffinator
Oh - and your best bet on fishing the cable would be to make a very small cut (1" long) in the carpet about 12 inches away from the wall, so you'll have room to bend the glowstick. Then you can hand-feed it the rest of the way to the wall if you so desire.
yromj
Thanks for the info. I'm going to try the sub out sometime this week. I've an electrical "fish tape" to use to run the wire so that may help. I may have to take you up on that 30' wire. John
Griffinator
Fish tape will be a little easier to negotiate at the wall (read: you won't need to cut the rug) but it's going to be a PITA guiding it all the way to the other end of the room under the carpet, which is why I suggested the glow sticks.
