sox
Helped a friend buy a HT system from brandnamez.com. It included a Denon AVR 884, a pair of RF-25s, an RC-25, a pair of RS-25s, and an RW-10. Price was great, everthing arrived in excellent physical condition. Everything works great except I cannot get output from the RW-10. I changed connections starting with the LFE single cable input; then tried the single to dual cable; and tried connecting it with speaker wire from the "B" speaker output (setting SW= NO in the receiver setup). No joy. I connected another SW to the LFE port of the receiver and it fuctioned OK so I think I have eliminated the receiver??. I was careful to adjust the receiver setup parameters, first identifying the front speakers as large, then as small, changed the crossover frequency, with no apparent improvement. The sub powers up OK, and it looks perfect. My question: Before I go thru the hassle of returning it for a replacement, is there something I have missed? If not, is there someone who knows the person a Klipsch who might walk me thru some troubleshooting exercises. I feel bad advising my friend into this situation but I'm here. I am a longtime klipsch owner but that's another story. Help?--------sox
RichardP
Sorry no one responded before now. I commented in a past post how my RW-12 was DOA, a great hassle because it was shipped from a store 300 miles away. Fortunately, the store paid for all return and replacement shipping and I had a new one within a week. They said that the dead one had a loose speaker lead, and I presume they meant a wire connecting the speaker with the built in amp. There are a few other posts like this, with dead subs from the RW or RSW lines. Clearly, there is somw quality control problem
sox
RichardP, Thank you for your response. I believe that those that read my original post concluded as you did that my troubleshooting regimen was comprehensive and there was only one conclusion (i.e. Bad sub). We are trying to get BRANDNAMEZ.COM'S attention (three emails so far and several attempts on their "always busy" phone support number). I have done business with them a number of times over the past two years and have been extremely satisfied. At this point I'm assuming they are understaffed and haven't gotten to me yet. I plan to let all of you know how this comes out. This forum is a great resource; I have consulted it a number of times but I never had anything relevent to say until now. This is an invaluable knowledge base and thanks to all Klipsch lovers for making it so.
