mschrade
I appologize for the newbie question, but can anyone explain the difference between the Reference Series and Synergy Series beyond the fact that Synergy is sold at BestBuy? Thanks...
gcoker
To explain it best Reference Series speakers from Klipsch are there top of the line. There material, cones, magnetes, and construction are their best. The synergy line is a lower price and lower quality speaker. This does not mean they are crappy, it's just they made a entry (affordable)line for people which does not have the top of the line components. SteelerFan
I may be wrong but didn't I read on here somewhere the Synergy series is manufactured overseas? Don't know if that would make any difference to you.

KeesGuy
The Reference series is a notch above the Synergy series. Reference gets copper colored woofers and titanium compression drivers and a few other goodies like the capability of Bi-wiring. Synergy gets IMG poly woofers and aluminum compression drivers. Both are good, Reference is a bit better. Most dealers will discount Reference models, RF-25 for example, to almost what Best Buy sells the comparible SF-2 for. (Best Buy's prices are rarely more than a few dollars off of list on Synergy) If you plan to buy new, you're probably going to be better off going with Reference through an authorized dealer. FWIW - Jim.
Griffinator
Plus, at most Reference dealers you'r not going to get some pimple-faced geek trying to shlep a 4-year service plan on your 5-year-warranted speakers.
mschrade
Thank you all! I took the advice and went on a drive to check out the Reference series speakers, and I've been won over.
