DwK
As I said in my previous post I may be getting another set of Pro Medias (v2-400's to be exact). And I was thinking about taking apart the sub, and adding my 2 12" Fisher woofers. They are not "subwoofers" just woofers, but play Bass Quite well. This way I would get 4 times the bass no? Would this hurt the pros? thnx ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
fresca23
Hey man, are you sure that you can even put a 12" woofer in a case designed for a 6.5"? I really think it wouldnt even fit inside the Promedia subwoofer. Even if it did, the crossover might be screwed up, and there would not be enough air space for the subs to work with. Hell, if you want to try it, go ahead. But the Promedia sub was made to work with 6.5" drivers, with 80 watts driving each. If you only have 80 watts driving a 12" sub, it may sound weak. Good luck -dan This message has been edited by fresca23 on 07-02-2001 at 10:41 AM
DwK
80 watts will be plenty And The 12's wont be in the same box. Will have them in theyer own box. ------------------ Living Room: Yamaha Natural Sound A-500 Stereo Amplifier 2 Klipsch Heresys on A switch 2 Fisher STV-873 on B switch My Room: Klipsch Pro Medias 2 Fisher Surrounds
Seb
you can try it, buti think you'll get mixed results... besides, you wouldn't get anywhere close to 4x the bass. maybe add a couple dB and some extension in the lower bass if you do a good job, but even then you'll most likely have to provide some sort of external amplification in order for it to work properly. Paragon
hehe.. ya - the Pro sub box is designed for 2 6.5" drivers.. nothing bigger. Sub boxes are made for specific driver sizes in order for it to sound good. 2 12s would sufficate in that box - there would not be enough air for it to move and you would probably hear all port noise.
