kuisis
I bought two blue note cds this weekend Freddie Hubbard's Open Sesame and Andrew Hill's Point of Departure. I Enjoyed both of these recordings and wondered if anyone could recommend any other ones by these two artists? One Mint Julep on Open Sesame is incredible. boomac
Freddie Hubbard, "a great trumpet player". Freddie appears on many LPs, as a leader and a side man, where he really stands out. For Starters, try: Goin' Up - Freddie Hubbard True Blue - Tina Brooks Undercurrent - Kenny Drew Speak No Evil - Wayne Shorter Buy this DVD: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6384855&cart=181907024&style=movie His performance on "Cantaloupe Island" is outstanding and his solo on "Moanin'" with Blakey is fabulous.
