plissken99
We're moving into a new place and i need to know about where to place the surrounds particularly. I have an RF-7 based system, with RS-7s as the side surrounds. Refer to the drawing to see where I'm placing the speakers(ignore the dimensions in the drawing, as I walked it off, but the 20x17 is from actually measuring today). The seating position will be right in the center of the room. My question is, are they going to be too far from the seating position to appreciated? Also, the RF-7s sound best when in a corner right? artto
With an RF7 based system why should distance be a problem in a 20x17 room with 7 speakers? Thats plenty of acoustic output & coverage. It seems to me your real problem is the 3 brick walls. You're going to have far too many near term reflections & reverb galore that will most likely make the sound overly bright, harsh, with a considerable loss of detail, resolution & imaging.
