I only ask because I bought seperates and had "hum" issues I couldn't resolve and am now thinking about a receiver instead. Trying to figure how much performance I'd be giving up. However, with Reference Sevens, I think I gained a substantial improvement in musical performance by going with the right-sounding separates. However, be advised, you are going to pay $$$ for this improvement, more than I planned on spending for entry-level separates or higher-end receivers. PM me for additional details. Carl.
