resized CW II's

Recommended Posts

I've got a pair of re-sized CW II's. Outside dImensions are 29.5" high, 17.75" wide and 15.75" DEEP.

I was wondering what the correct port size opening would be for this sized speaker box.

Please keep in mind the bass reflex shelf was lost in the re-size.

Yes, I know, it's a shame they were re-sized (done before I acquired them) but I'm stuck with them because of WAF....Please guys...help me out here!

When you first posted the resized CW II thread only the first line appeared.

I posted asking if you were selling or what exactly your question was.

The next time I checked the thread, more of your comment appeared, Thus I edited my first comment, to the disregard statement...........sorry for the confusion.

bsacco,

Talk to someone at Klipsch and find out at what frequency the factory Cornwall IIs were vented. Then let me know how thick the wood is on these new cabinets, and I can help you get them correctly ported.

I don't believe the previous owner would have changed the filter network -- at least not to compensate for the smaller enclosure. The smaller enclosure likely only means a higher roll-off and changing the LP filter on the woofer wouldn't be able to help that. That being said, these speaker enclosures still likely have 3.5+ cubic feet of internal airspace which means the should still be able to play reasonibly low.
