Maynard42
I am thinking about getting a full R7 5.1 setup Rf7s rc7 and rs7s with the rws15 sub. Do you think the HK AVR 630 (75 watts) is enough to drive these speakers, or I'm I going to regret not getting a better amp? Thanks.
cjgeraci
Depends on what you want. What is your preference/ratio of HT to music? Do you plan on listening to the RF-7s in two-channel?
MrMcGoo
The H/K receivers are honest about the power they produce. Seventy-five honest watts are enough for RF-7s, if run as small. The RSW-15 produces more than enough bass for most listeners, so the small setting on the RF7s works well. I am assuming that you have a "typical" listening room, if there is such a thing. If you want to run the RF-7s as large (full range), then 200 watts per channel will produce better low bass below 80 Hz. Big amps are expensive, but would be good when you do not want to run a subwoofer. I run the subwoofer with all program material, so I use the small setting and a 140 watt separate amp. Maynard42
Thanks all, I will be using for HT and music egually. I will probablly use 2 channel mode for music (for which the AVR 630 provides 90 Watts/channel). Is the rsw15 as acurrate for music as the 12? I don't want to gain power and a few hz at the loss of some quallity. m
