davmar
I have a problem with my personal confuser; I have a 1.8 MHZ P4 on an ASUS P4T-E motherboard. It has 1028 MB 400 HHZ RAMBUS. I am running XP home. I am loading my CD collection onto I tunes and Windows Media Player 8 or something like that. I am doing this so I can use my 15 gig and 40 gig I-Pods. I installed two new drives, a 180 gig internal and a 200 gig external and reinstalled windows on it, now when I run either of the aforementioned programs the systems slows down and stops. I uninstalled media player and I tunes crashes, uninstall I tunes and window media crashes. I took out half of my RAM and it worked OK for several hours and then it slowed down again and has not worked well since. I ran spy ware, TDS_3, and AVG for virus, all come up negative. Any Ideas? justin_tx_16
first off, just use iTunes and rip at 192mp3 unless you only intend to use iTunes and/or iPod in which 192 AAC will give you noticably better sound at the same size. the ram issue, sounds like bad ram? I had that once. Exchanged the stick of ram and was fun. What version of iTunes are you trying to use? There have been I think 4 version for the PC, I have all four so if you want to try another version, just let me know.
